Okay...its a little cool this morning, but eh..if you live in the great Northwest, fuggetaboudit..

This here is my yard..

then theres another love..helleborous..Hmmm, did I spell that right? Also the ever fabulous and always showy hosta, which we have quite a few varieties...so EASY to grow, especially since they are so prolific around here with all our ""moisture and shade..""
OY... the SLUGS LOVE EM..
that's so not such a great thing, but..slugs..give em a little salt
they will be slime quicker than you can whistle your favorite tune..
I know, don't hate me..i kill a slug now and then...so not PC of me, eh?
(bwaaa ha ha ha ha)

If I didn't, these here little nubs of glory would just be...nubs eaten by slugs..

Ill be out here today..
Ive got a mulch pile calling my name....


and theres nothing my little green friends like more than


DA mulch..

maybe I have a shovel or a spade for ya..

Crackle, perfected....

You know it when you see it.

I'm constantly on the hunt for it.

It is elusive as the green horned polka dotted ginger pig..

It...the perfect crackle!

Really, the only thing that can perfect the aged paint is

time, as far as I can tell.

I appreciate it on an old house, a piece of furniture, a wonderful mantle..

What I wish, is to know how to get this effect. I am somewhat of a crackle snob..

Its gotta be a thick, non patterned imperfect crackle. No symmetry whatsoever..

do you have the ticket?

She and he, were both infected the same time. Her, approximately right after she got her shot for the virus. They really didnt show up very much on her, but Finn...Well, we have scars.

So, on tax day April 15Th, there will be a big meeting. Our adjuster, their adjuster and an umpire. From what I understand, things will finally get rolling..16 months later..that's a good response time, don't you think?

What I would like from all of you is to send good vibes to

this place.

aren't they delicious? Scored them when I was down in Cannon Beach a few weekends ago. My friend Joy in Gearhart has the most adorable little shop called Pacific Crest Cottage. I think that she said they were made in Sweden. I bought one of each, for my littles..Mr Ryan, most unfortunately, has grown out of this type of thing.

Its Amazing, Grace.....

This is the epitome of beach cottage living to the Coastal Nest..

Its darling name is Amazing Grace, she is on Tybee Island.I absolutely ADORE the mix of old and new, shabby and chic, if you will.

(I know, those words are sooo over used..)

The sweet flooring in this bath, the adorable green stool, one of which my gorgeous mama has one nearly like it in her laundry room..(stalking it..someday she will give it up)
I love how this magical place is not overwhelmed by new and fancy marble from home depot and deluxe windows by whoever..Do you get what I mean..Its just so ding dang comfy!



This photo RIGHT HERE, with these darling bunk beds was the reason I set out on my excursion to find a beach house to renovate. Although the bunk beds didn't come to fruition..we know that the Coastal Nest did, in fact find her little slice of, how you say..
PARADISE??

Shes good, reeeeal good, eh? She has been in Coastal Living a number of times, I believe lately shes even showed the before photos to this home. Yikes, what a site it use to be...I even had a few email conversations with Jane waaaaay back when we found this place,

the sweetheart gave me nothing but encouragement and enthusiasm to go get em..(which I know you know I did, with the help of that awesome BV)
