The sea was angry that day, my friend....

Hi there,
This is a photo from my bar stool..
We were hard at work, yes..painting, flooring you name it
we were doing it on Friday.
A good babysitter at home, an early off for my
fabulous, ever handy, rough handed (and handsome) BobVilla. We were
out to the beach at 2pm. A great start!
"We can get out there early, stay late- and get some loggin done"
If you watch Discovery Channel, well--Ax men..These are our friends, neighbors
and countrymen..And getting some loggin done 'round here means
WORK..(I love me some Ax men.) My peeps..
Except for today.."The sea was angry, my friend.." in the ponderous words of
George Costanza..B R R R R R...and.....W I N D Y
The power went out. So guess what-- the only "right" thing to do--
you got it-Walk across the street to the good ol Restaurant/Bar at the Naval Base
and get into some high priority talks..
yep..(I see someones beautiful clef chin!!!)

We had lots of good discussion over a piping hot bowl of clam chowder and a wonderful shrimp caesar salad..oh yeah..you cant forget the Landshark..Lucky for us, they were good and cold.

Of course, bobV finished off both bowls-The chowder AND the salad. We had great conversation on our lil kids, our wonderful life, the white boogers in our noses from all the drywall dust and how rough and dry our skin is.

This here, shes MaryEllen.. Shes chief cook and bottle washer, over here at the Navy base..also funny as all get out..

She brought us a few more landsharks, then guess what??? ZZZZrrrrooommmpppp.......

Power was restored!! That was quick, only about 2 hours, so--Back to work!

"Not so fast, woman.." BV says, with a little buzzed gleam in his eye..

First we had to make out like a couple of highschoolers--no, Martha-- not in the Bar, we waited till we got to the car..

I love me them rough dry hands, specially when they are all over me!!

did I say we were going to get some work done??

Aricula gorgeosia

More green love... Is this not so sweet and gorgeous!!
spring spring spring
although its snowing buckets here on the Washington Coast today!

Orange HELL..

Well, G'morning!
Guess where I am today--AGAIN?!
The most incompatent place on earth.. (and Im not kidding)
Here, I could manage this whole store, without any help whatsoever..
I could tell the poor foolish cashiers how to ring up items, properly..
I could help the customers find what they were looking for quickly, expeditiously and happily!!
in fact-- I end up helping
people when I am there ALL THE TIME--why? you ask..well, because no one in the lovely orange aprons are EVER in sight.
I even take that huge yellow staircase and get stuff off of the
"please ask for assistance" shelving--why? you ask..well, because no one in the lovely
orange aprons are EVER in sight.
Poor Home Depot.. Incompetence is King- with a big stupid orange crown..
Luckily, I found the store manager, she was very helpful
shes got short legs, and I walk quickly when I am here-- (the shorter time length in orange hell, the better) So, I tossed her in one of those race car carts and she helped me

Here, in this section.. She was so happy to help, Huge smile and a good driver!!
Although she was too short to reach the colors I wanted, she was happy to find a nice bright pink mickey mouse ears paint sample to add to the collection of what makes her happy when shes here..She just smiles that beautiful smile, then tells mama to go to her happy place..

Which, happens to be-where ever she or her brothers are.

C'mon Rea, we are OUTTA HERE!!

vroom vroom..

That Pioneer Woman

Ode to the Pioneer Woman..
This chick Ree, she lives somewhere out in the, I think, Oklahoma state, or somewhere big and vast. She is so funny. She takes care of her family, dogs, garden and all these herds of cow and wild mustang horses. Lord, its a busy life of a cowboy wife. Her blog, for anyone who has been living under the proverbial rock, and has not been there is Confessions of a Pioneer Woman
Ree is a lover of her little punks, of which she has 4 and then theres this dude shes married to
Lordy- Marlboro Man. Just go there, shes an awesome writer, and a great giver of recipes.
Like this here wonderful carrot cake I made for Easter. It was a huge hit, the kids loved it, the big kids (adults) loved it as well. Try a recipe of Rees, its good for your family.
A staple in our house is her pot roast. Oh lord its to die for and EASY.. My kids are silent for a half hour. This only occurs when they are stuffing their faces (which is hardly, VERY picky eaters) or when they are sleeping (then they are sleep-TALKING) Really, you will love any recipe shes got posted. She keeps it real, real simple.. And REAL FUNNY..
Her site is under construction, but shell be up and going shortly, Im sure of it.
YEEEEE HHHHaaaaawwwwww
Let me hear ya say Hell ya!
I love Ree!

Happiest Easter Greetings

We had a fun morning-

Guess what we did.. colored Easter eggs!

Which inspired this gal to take a few lovely photos of my childrens accomplishments.

Oh, and this gorgeous springtime arrangement I whipped up myself

(Safeway) shhh..

So, I am off to make Pioneer Womans Carrot Cake that she posted yesterday.
I am sure it will go over well. We are going to my cousin Marks house tomorrow.
Hopefully, the weather will co operate, although this is not expected to.

House finds, and the like..

This sign was found in my last house, in the attic. Apparently, the estate that we purchased the home from was owned by the Dutro family.
Optometrist extrordinaire..
All I know is that he had a great eye for signeage..
Think?
Yesterdays post also had one of Dr Dutros signs in it, although I painted it to match my name not the good doctors..
Close up of a little shell box I adore in the livingroom..
Last but not least, a new "lampshade" for lack of a better word.
Adore it, made out of tyvek. this is the kind of material that home builders cover houses in for moisture barrier and quite possibly insulation. Its like a plasticy paper.
I will post when I find a cord for it to hang properly.

Its a perfect spring thing, lovely light awesome flowers.

you just wait and see..

Have a happy Easter, my friends!

Happy St Patricks Day!
We here, being mostly on the Mc
side of Irish, wish all of you a lucky day..
BV and I will be taking the lil Mc's to the local Irish pub-restaurant
to drink (for the kiddies) green milk till it comes out the noses of the little tots, and
purely set a bad example by imbibing a little too much adult bevs ourselves.
tis love and beer that keeps us here. Heres some cabbage for ya!

Being Irish Means.......
* you will never play professional basketball
* you swear very well
* at least one of your cousins holds political office
* you think you sing very well
* you have no idea how to make a long story short
* you are very good at playing a lot of very bad golf
* there isn't a huge difference between losing your temper and killing someone
* much of your food was boiled
* you have never hit your head on the ceiling
* you spent a good portion of your childhood kneeling
* you're strangely poetic after a few beers
* you're poetic a lot
* you will be punched for no good reason...a lot
* some punches directed at you are legacies from past generations
* your sister will punch you because your brother punched her
* many of your sisters are Catherine, Elizabeth or Mary...and one is Mary Catherine Elizabeth
* someone in your family is incredibly cheap
* it is more than likely you
* you don't know the words but that doesn't stop you from singing
* you can't wait for the other guy to stop talking so you can start talking
* 'Irish Stew' is the euphemism for 'boiled leftovers from the fridge'
* you're not nearly as funny as you think you are, but what you lack in talent, you make up for in frequency
* there wasn't a huge difference between your last wake and your last kegger party
* you are, or know someone, named 'Murph'
* if you don't know Murph, then you know 'Mac'
* if you don't know Murph or Mac, then you know 'Sully'
* you'll probably also know Sully McMurphy
* you are genetically incapable of keeping a secret
* your parents were on a first name basis with everyone at the local emergency room
and last but not least... Being Irish means...
* your attention span is so short that---oh, forget it.

I am not sure what really transpired while taking this photo, but I just cracked up so hard I

peed my pants when I saw this. Last Easter at my sisters house, when this was taken. I think we were celebrating the day with mimosas or was it lemondrops, anyway, I had just gotten this camera. Funny photo, eh!!

After, we will go back to the long marrieds home (where we all grew up)

and have this little chocolate beauty with a good bottle of Columbia Valley Port wine. I will be posting this recipe very soon. Easy chocolate ganache. youll thank me for it.

Mom and Dad

Thank you for being such a couple of

FANTASTIC PARENTS

I could go on and on.. but,

Then there is this little dumplin, mildly obsessed with-- youguessedit!!
PINK, oy vey..Oh, and Dora..This little spanish girl is constantly running all over my house, and if shes not here, shes calling my girl on the phone, see? how rude..

Then we have this here, mommys obsession, Library books.

If you can, take your kids to toddler time at your library, they will absolutely love, adore, and crave to read! We have a great time and go 2 times a week.(sorry sarah for the repetition!)

I heart helleborous.. oh yes I do

Hello

Today is a day for..

The bus driver (who lost her keys yesterday, its a terrible story)

to take and pick up all 3 kids at 3 different schools

to do 4 loads of dirty laundry

to drink a few too many cups a joe joe

and to look out at my garden which, by the way-
is starting to wake up, herself, hell, with all this rain- and that teasing of sunshine
Why not?
I am happy to see her finally drag herself out a bed, like me.

I ADORE.......

This dude, here. My man " BobVilla" I call him honey for short. He is my reason for, well.. walking around while he works. It amazes me how he can be so awesome with his hands. I could really not build anything like this. Not good enough with fractions and measurement.. a hem... Should have paid better atttention in school, bv says. I digress...

He is also a former Marine, so he can still do these awesome tricks.

And turn this...

Into this...
Thank you up there, for letting him see me, and love me.
