You

all

have

a

good

weekend.

Ill

be

back

on

Monday

When "someone" (bobvilla) decides its time for a new RIDE

So "The Family" is going on a little road trip tomorrow- to a wedding, uh- IN IDAHO.
Bob insists on "lookin around, you know-rubberneck"
Lisa, its really time we look for a new rig. This means
Mommy is getting rid of her van. Mommy has it in her craw she wants a pimped out tricked up
Escalade, or a Navagator, or maybe a Tahoe.......you know, mamma needs to roll..
"Uhh, hon, did you forget about all those small people that live with us?"
replies the ever present and always handy mailman/husband. "and what about gasssss?"
grrrrr. "look at this BRANDNEW honda van, HON"..grrrrr..This is no pimp ride.
But it definately is nice, and comfy, and has all the bells and whistles..okay, okay..lets check it out. Well, I guess Im really not a pimp, anyway..right?So, here we are at the Honda dealership in town - "rubbernecking"
This is when the overweight, out of breath car salesman comes running out..
huffing and puffing..
LORD.

Although he is nice enough. The pressure ensues with, well, you owe so much on your van...this that the other..back forth..you know the drill. (see.the.sweat?)

This is also where the 3 year old secret weapon comes into play..She starts getting a little annoyed at being there "just rubbernecking, hon" then the 42 year old secret weapon starts to get a little irritated that its taking soooo long!!!

Not being able to reach a perfect payment that we want, Mr Villa-

Marine/Mailman/Daddy/Husband extraordinaire reaches deep into his bag of tricks, with the other 2 secret weapons already in place. Remember,(Bitchy wife, crying daughter) and pulls out the extreme move of all...

"Get your COATS"

-I guess we cannot come to a deal today-

all of a sudden, and before screaming crying daughter realized it...

sweaty and (money man in the booth) come runnin.

"keep buckling her in" villa insists, under his breath..

I see the gleam in those beautiful eyes I love so much.. and follow with..

"I dont want THAT BIG of a payment, hon..now lets go!!!"

..and satisfaction ooozes from his pores.

(look at that shit eatin grin)

The end..

whats your secret weapon for buying a new ride?

More Coastal Frolicking..

As lucky as we were to be able to skip out to the beach this weekend, we were even more lucky in our treasure hunting.Clearly, we were ready- trusty Home Depot has supplied the Coastal Nest with enough plastic bags to hold a sand dollar or two. We were off...Can I take a good morning photo of self, or what.. ewww. Whose eyelids are almost sagging over her eyes, its soooo early. Most days are puffy eye days for me. Martha, help me!!!Remember how I spoke of just family bonding, and close talks?
Guess what??? Some kids are coming around to it. (also, some Fathers)As we took off to adventure the day away with our trusty Plastic Bag.. we did not even imagine that we could find what we did..More than one whole sand dollar-for sure. Mostly, the home depot again filled me with dissapointment. Breaking over the sheer bulk of our booty.Quite possibly 100 shells?!
Then Bob had to show off his clam digging skills-sans shovel.
Oh yeah, hes good... Nice form-no? Also nice legs, Villa.."Children, gather round, watch how its done, your ol man diggin clams bear handed"
look at that toothy grin on my man. (I.LOVE.YOU.!) Here he is! although, he went back to the whole that he was so rudely dug from.
Sorry clammy..

Saw plenty of these dudes also. Hey Paula, get your fork!!!
All and all we had a wonderful lil escape.

Oh yeah, we HAD to endure this sunset, too.

.....AMAZING.....

?what did you do this weekend?

The Halls of JUSTICE..(or, the big MEETING)

Here we are, my friends...
The law offices of him, her and the other dude..(oh, yes..they are good REAL good)
They have this statue here..Blind Justice-I believe is her name.
Nice figure shes got, huh? its very official here, and Northwesty (note Indian art in mirror)
This is my kind of art.."And Justice For ALL"
Its got little cute paintings of all kinds of people from all walks of life.
I think I see a little red headed shop keeper and her ever faithful and handsome husband, oh- and all her kids there. Yes, look closely they are there, somewhere.Back to the official, stiff office. Get a load of this piece of furniture in the lobby.
Holy Guacamole! The carvings are, can I say, about as ostentatious (did I spell that right?)
as they come, It screams,
I am a serious-o.
And I mean business.
AND I AM VERY COMPETENT AT THIS GAME.

Here we are, shhhhhh. Things are about to get very stiff in here.

although, this is "our team"

left to right..(although I am sitting there(right hand woman next to Red Headed shop keeper)

ha ha, you cant see me (or sister, sitting to my right hand)

Mom, Dad, Atty man (oh, and hottie) Brad, my big tall brother, our wonderful contractor Jeff, and our small town insurance gal (who really is kind of in over her head) but shes got a good heart-I think

CONTENTIOUS (didispellthatright?)

to say the least.

ACCUSATORY (didispellthatright?)

and totally LONG and FRUSTRATING!!

can you say 6 hours in here.

at certain times, my knees were shaking, and my hands were so sweaty I had to start a deep breathing technique I used to deliver babies with. A certain steak necked insurance man and his right hand man were trying (and did) call my dad a liar..in so many words.

Which If you knew him, that's about the farthest thing from that man-EVER.

Saying that we didn't properly take care of our beloved building, that we didn't allow certain "things" to take place. Like it was our fault!

we got nowhere.

-and the saga of Grand Heron continues...ugh

When it all starts coming together...

Remember this dude, from the last post? Uncle Butch. He has been, and always will be a sign painter. FROM WAAY BACK.
Its the only thing he does, well he does lots of custom stuff, including custom work like Harley Bikes, tricked out cars or trucks, anything that needs a cool custom paint job- hes the man.
He did our new signage for the new temporary location.
I adore it.
Simple
great black and white, easy to read, and it lets the potential shopper know what exactly is inside the shop.Behind the counter, in white with a little silver stripe.
Just in case you need to remember where you are when you are writing that
LARGE check... for all you fabulous interiors you just purchased
from
MOI!!

Here are Dad and Uncle Butch up on the awning. BE CAREFUL OLD DUDES!!!

Here are some cute little helpers. Lord those children are

ADORABLE, agree? I knew you would.

This, my friends, is my favorite new piece of signage.

The marquee sign.

THIS can get a girl going.

Although its a temporary spot its turning out to be a

magnificent start...

to something even more

GRAND!!!

stay tuned

Happy Birthday to my Father!!!

I love this photo
A man above men..

Thats my Daddy.

Its his Birthday today

his 64th year

This dude next to him is his best buddy from WAAAAY back, they have been friends, well-

Forever. Thats Uncle Butch.

Here is my Mom and Dad on Mothers Day.

they have been married 42 years-whew!!

Its hard to sum up my Father.. He is
AMAZING, to say the least.
Quiet gentlemen, hardworking daddy, wonderful grampa, artistic to no end, Hidden talent is his middle name. He can do ANYTHING!
patient, loving, and kind are just a teensy eentsy part of him.
A family man, he worked very hard being a log scaler until he retired not more than 2 years ago.
Now he is chief cook and bottle washer at the shop with us.
His girls.
And boy do we LOVE him.
Have a happy HAPPY Birthday
Dad.
I love you to the moon and back!
Your #1 girl,
Lisa

Oh, for the love of a good decorating session..in other words..WORK!

Well hello and good morning!
Yesterday was a day of good measure, Mom, Mary(sister) and self all got our decorating on..
Things are looking up at the new temporary
GRAND HERON location
I like how the orek even matches the decor..
What I DONT like is the lighting in this rental space.
Hurts the corneas, and dosent look much like a
real home, now does it? It will do in a snap.
Here is kind of the signature look of shop owner decorator diva, my mom.
Everything I learned, I learned from her..
Texture, texture and more texture, dear..
shes good.oh yes
GOOD

I bet you can guess who decorated here..

YEP its me, coastal nest- getting her relaxed seaside

ocean feel on..

One more tiny part finished, oh yes.. and some new stock.

you know..cuz a girl just can never get enough...

WHAT?????

heaven help us...

If you want it we got it..somewhere in here.

GRAND HERON

RE-opening...soon.

Be there or Be square

I love celery.. and its not the veggie

I admit it.
The soft colors of celery and yellow together, well..
They make me purrrr...
How could you not be relaxed, cozy and completely at one with yourself
Here... Or
Here? Those curtains send me.
No children could enter this room, however..I could imagine the tiny shoe prints all over
my lovely white furniture, then theres the chocolate chip cookie hands.. printed with love
upon my lovely matching ottomans..
uh, maybe we better save this for the next life..or better yet, retirement.
Anyhoo...I totally enjoyed myself in the dream of celery and its lovely
color today..
and your favorite decorating colors are???
