Happy 5th Birthday Big Boy!!!!!

Here is one of the best things of my little life.
Finn Patrick.
A very big big suprise in our lives also.
This little man is 5 today...where has the time gone, people?
someone please answer me..
Last weekend he got his first driving lesson from his daddy (bobVila)
we were going on our beach walk and finn said"I wanna drive, Daddy.."
guess what, ol bob aims to please. This is what we get. a total poser!!! WAtch the road kid!!! Happiest 5th birthday to one of the best things of my life.
You spoil me with your laughter
you charm me with your smile
your kisses are addicting
and mama loves you a million miles!!!
to the moon and back my love..
Happy Birthday
xoxoxo
mama
:)

Beee careful hon!!! or- when bobvila takes on the hive

Helloooo HANDSOME!
isnt my man gorgeous? I know you are all so jealous..hes mine ALLLL mine and boy do I love him.
He is a friend to all big and small..captain of the do gooders but dont mess with Texas if your wrong, (in his eyes) he will certainly LET.YOU.KNOW..
(trust me, oh yes)
As you can see, hes parked his fine ass at my shop in the pretty yellow armless, he came for a visit before returning to the house on the corner, where I am sure there are waterfights and dirty dishes..along with dirty laundry..dont forget the laundry.
ANYHOO..
did I tell you that BobVila loves to help out???Especially when it comes to being neighborly..
Heres Doug and BobV. Remember how I told you that I grew up in my hood. Well Doug here has 3 kids, and we use to walk to school with those kids every darn day of elementary school. So, Doug and I go WAAAAAY back. I love the family. The kids grew up to be 2 Elementary school teachers and one policeman, and yes they all are living in our home town.
lets get back to the story here. See those smiles, its a funny thing how men (boys grown up) get when they are about to do something--something a little dangerous..and heres another, much fuzzier photo of the 2 boys, I was nervous, sorry....and another nervous shot...

Then BV calls out to his wife.."honey, stay away..and dont let the kids out of the house.." this is where I think Im going to get a bee sting, or worse, my man getting ALL stung up in there...

(isnt he handsome!!!!) being all bossy.. Then with his stealth like Marine corps skills he swoops in with the ever handy trowel..A tool of the devil, I know that trowel well, remember the drywalling at the coastal nest. I curse that trowel..trowel be dammed. oh..back to the story..
black garbage bag in hand and hood up, gloves on. guess what. The whole incident took about 3 minutes..one last scrape with that ugly trowel and voila..its all in the bag.
WASPS in the hood?
not on BobVilas watch. "Just helpin out" he says..
what a man I have
(and only got one sting to the back of the head)
the end

Evening shots at Pacific Beach Washington..

Hey Everyone!!!
I know, Im still here.. Just been ultra busy trying to work, and be a mom and wife. Its a full boat! I know, you know how it goes..So anyway, I hope that all are having a great summer and things with your families are going super smooth!
Here are some evening shots from the lil ol Coastal NEst. Above is my neighbors house. I love it, all that texture when his lights go on. (disregard the Wii reflection, a-Hem)
Hello milk glass footed bowls. Talk about a great mood light. I got these at our local junk store for a $1 each. Bargain betty..
Then theres this!
And this...
and last but not least, one of my favorite parts of the North Beach..The craggy windswept pines. Bonsai if you will. A nice family of crows live in that thicket somewhere. Caw CAwCAW!!! sometimes they can drive me crazy, but its fun to watch them interact. Just like they are saying about us. There truely is a family dynamic there thats interesting to watch.

Now on to another subject people...We are thinking of turning the Coastal NEst into a vacation rental, its simply not being shown and its starting to drain, no let me rephrase that, has drained us completely of any savings, ect. so..my question to you is..do any of you readers have a vacation rental you could give me tips on, OR... are you interested in becoming one of my first renters???? We are jumping in here and really dont know what the water will be like, so.. any fun facts or interesting tidbits will helps us immensely.

And if you want to rent, let me know..we can work something out. I know your going to love it out here..
Thanks, people..as usual I will be anxious to see what youall have to say..
xoxoxox, from the coastal nest..

My beach life..

I apologize for the neglect of this dear blog and all of you who come and peek. I know, I know.. I have heard from more than one of you sweethearts wondering if Im alright, if I have fallen into the surf, never to return. I know you all are used to me posting just about every day. ME TOO!! But, I have to tell you that we have been having a considerable ammount of fun and family out at the coastal nest, its just very hard to give up! I apologize..But, in the back of my mind, I really am thinking of you all. I have been taking a great many blog photos for you and am going to unload a ton of pretty (I think) shots of my peeps and my nest. Like to see em? Here we go..

I am sure you with the children have one of these kind of kids in your house..mezmorizing..nintendo ds..its a librarians, or mothers dream...sometimes..
One starts playing- the cute music starts to play.. its kind of like a moth to a lightbulb, isnt it??
Sometimes I think they have ran off and left me, go into the other room to look for my kiddoes and this is what I see. look at all that pretty quiet going on there..not to mention the gorgeous silky brown hair..
Pretty boy here, hes going to be 5 already! Hes my lil lover, adores to be a little dog called starry for his mother. Adorable little punk isnt he. Hes got my eyes and my build. I think he might be the one in the family called lady killer, always telling even strangers "your beautiful" Its soooo cute.. He is a chip off of the Vila block.
The rest of these shots are just from the cottage. I thought you might enjoy.

ebay purchase, cost me about $50 including shipping for the pair. they are HUGE. oh, the good old days of ebay..I fear they are waaaaay gone. you?
I did do a little window washing, lord knows that beach sand sticks to new windows like glue!!
If you remember, when we were getting the Grand Heron up and running I posted a few photos of my dad and Uncle Butch. He is the one that made this salmon sign, many many years ago, when Olympia actually HAD a salmon run, this was down near the pier somewhere. Its something thats been in our house for a very very long time, I fished it out of my brothers room, took it to my first house with us when BobVila and I got married ( It was a very primitive patriotic style then, I loved this, very much and still do!)
This little corner of my coastal nest is one of my favorites, crave the faded green chairs with my wall color (restful from Home Depot) The box that the shells are in is a found piece from the location of the new Grand Heron. totally works with the non-theme of the place, eh?
This is one of Debbie Thibaults pieces Miss Liberty. one of the crave-able things in my collection. My mama gave it to me.. love ya mom!!

My pacific beach sticker, now on the back of the old ultra conservative Honda Minivan..ugh! ( do love that van, btw..drives like a cadillac)
my stove..
my dining table and lots of beach finds thrown into a great large wooden carved bowl from -you know where- Grand Heron..you gotta come there!!!
$1 garage sale stool and small chest..
Pretty window treatments-another soft touch I love..Well, that is all that blogger is letting me add today, not sure whatsg oing on with things in blog land, seems it dosent like my photos too much. Anyone else having the problem of "error" something or other..I hate that!!
I hope all of you are enjoying your summer. I spent last night stalking my favorite blogs and have to say that miss Sarah is doing lots of work over at Fortner family. Cute sarah!! Bizzy bizzy girl. Bristols got some new stuff in her shop. Work it girl!! Marty, well, shemust be out chasing down her policeman boyfriend cuz SHES not bloggin.. hehe..Mrs G just got back from Vacation, and realized shes a lucky chick, like we didnt know DERF!! Tracey -and her treasures are having a ball with some gifts from the sea "happy birthday over there!" and all you others, well.. i love ya all!!
until next post-
