Beach Scenes
a la
Coastal Nest

This magnificent creature kept watch on us one morning walk.
We gauged it to be about 4 feet tall from other birds trying to distract him from his morning feast. His mate was on the beach "fishing" what a sight.
Only at the beach.
come on out!

Joys of summertime.....

Hi all,
We have been far far away from anything to do with television or internet. My apologies, NOT!!
Its been a cool summer here on the coast in Washington.
We are enjoying all things beach and are having a wonderful time.WISH YOU WERE HERE!!
lotsa sand in the toes-

Its wild around here lately...

We have been busy..
its been crazy wild with the end of the year school activities.
Ill give you a hint....Its not your ordinary house cat... nor your ordinary run of the mill foilage...
Oh yes..
Field trip to the
Point Defiance Zoooooo!!!
With about 60 5th graders
OY!!

I think I liked the grounds better than the animals-(at the zoo, not on the busssss)

Madrona Trees, a favorite of mine. They loose their bark in the summertime and reveal the best red skin. They are found around the pacific northwest mostly by the Puget Sound, or a large waterway...

The best thing in my life (or at least one of them) is 11 now.
Sixth grade..SIXTH GRADE..? WHAAAA..
how did that happen?

The aquarium is one of my favorite stops here at the zoo.

Seems fitting to have taken this picture.. My boy got the big mouth award from his Teacher this year..

She said the boy is something else..

"Most of the time Ryan seems to be not paying attention in class, but when called upon, he always has the right answer for me. I have greatly enjoyed having him in my class this year, he is smart and capable and has a wicked sense of humor."

That was Mrs Ps comments on eldests report card.

What else can a mommy ask for. Especially the wicked sense of humor part.

As you can see, using that humor on pink sweatshirt girl..

But, can still handle a mommy son photo in front of all his class mates.

I love you Ryan..you and your orange pop moustashe~~

You make me soooo proud!

Congratulations on your achievement of the 5th Grade!!

A tag..5 things about me..zzzzzzzzzz

I got tagged by a fellow blogger that was interested in me. Sorry to say this is it. White bread, early to bed, carpooling happy mamas life..But hey, things could change..if so- Youll be the first to know.

1) Where were you 10 years ago? Ten years ago, today. Hmmmm. I believe that I was happily puttering around my house, probably doting on my little baby boy I had, who is now 11. We have not left the town that steve and I grew up in. We love it here and only live about 10 houses away from my family home I grew up in (my mom and dad still live there)

2) Five items on your to-do list today.
Lordy.. Brush teeth, get kids to school-hopefully not any tardys.

get the house in fairly decent order

get to work before 11

read a book or two to my tots

make a decent dinner for all of us..which is probably 3-4 days a week.

3) Snacks I enjoy - love wasabi peas, chips and a good dip-especially with a nice cold beer or 2.

a great pepperoni stick from the Oly farmers market, and the best popcorn from the popcorn shop in my town.

4) What would you do if you were a billionaire?

Im really not sure on that one, I think if I was a millionaire would have been a better answer, because billion??? whats that.. If I were a millionaire, I would definately pay off all our bills, make sure my mini peeps would have all the schooling they would ever need (yes, we are working on that savings account, but you know how it is) I would never ever sell the coastal nest beach house, but would put in a pool!!! and an extra bedroom for guests. I would definately sleep better at night, knowing that I dont have to worry about $$$$.

5) Places I would live: I would live right where I am, and out at the beach. Possibly might have a little house near a lake that was clean andhad fairly warm water so the kids could have a good time at with all their friends and cousins.

6) 5 Bloggers I'm passing the challenge onto:

Im really open to that, if you would like, please post away. Let me know! Id love to hear all about you..thanks, sorry Im not very exciting..simple girl, simple needs, simple life. Well, kinda simple.

A man among men..

Happy Fathers DayI purely cannot believe how time flies,
seems like this lil girl in the hands of my Father just was born from me.
Does he feel the same? Does it seem that he was just holding me?
I am so blessed to have this great man as my Dad.
Strong
Quiet
Gentleman
Familyman
Hardworking
Handsome
I could go on and on.
Im just happy to say
Im glad you got me, I am sure I have been more than you bargained for, more than one time in our lives. For some of those things, I do regret, too. Thank you for doing everything right. Making our family with mom and you such a wonderful place to grow up in. You are a treasure in our lives, more than you will ever know!
The big picture is
I love ya- love ya- love ya!
your the greatest.
Happy Fathers Day Dad!
Lisa
:)

a matter of stack..

Love it, love it love it..

how great is it that the stacking of dishes is now the new "look"

the exposed allure of a bunch of dishes really is a wonderful thing.

keeping it simple, just simple!

Love it.

can you tell which photo is me? Sure you can.

have a great weekend!

A little funny or two.

These were in my inbox lately, couple of cute jokes for your day..

I was walking past the mental hospital the other day, and all the patients were shouting, '13....13.....13.' The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in the planks, so I looked through to see what was going on..... Someone poked me in the eye with a stick! Then they all started shouting '14....14....14'...

HA HA HA! cute, wasnt it..

This one I saw on blogger. If any of you have ever had to deal with cell phone "customer service" Then you can get this one. We are still getting harassed by sprint, here in this house.Mostly its turned into a random collection agency trying to figure out why sprint says the US Postal Service would owe them money.. LONG and UGLY story -whenever they call BV almost explodes the vein in his neck. We wont go there today. This is real cute though... oh to have a brainiac mind.

Have a great day, peeps.

WHA????? just what the hell was that last night??!!

I am sorry other people that read..This is for my NorthWest peeps.

WHY IS IT THAT WE HAVE HAD NO GOOD WEATHER???

WHERE IS THE SUN? WHERE IS ANY DEGREE OVER THE 50's MARK??

I THINK I NEED ONE OF THOSE "SUN LAMPS"

I AM DEFINATELY IN A FUNK A DELIC FUNK~

Me and "Villa" tried to do some siding at the beach last night, almost got blown off of the roof. Came down, changed our underpants, and promptly left the sand.

The beginning of the end.....

Im feeling quite sad today.
Im sure we are short timing on the
Coastal Nest.
So, to get yourself in the mood put on Barbara Streisands "Memories"
and lets wax nostalgic, shall we....

Two real estate agents visited us while we were out to the beach this weekend, both whom visited the cottage in this sorry state. Neither could believe the transformation.
I cannot- really, believe we took on this project as I look at these photos.
More tomorrow.
