December 3rd, when hurricane force winds DESTROYED our lovely
historic Masonic Temple building that housed my beloved
Grand Heron..
My parents, are having the highest anxiety of their collective lives. Stress beyond belief.
EVERYDAY
There has been absolutely little to no communication from our lovely insurance adjuster.
Its almost like we do not even matter.
NOT ONE CENT.
20 YEARS
TWENTY!!! and this is the treatment you get.....
This company SHOULD BE EMBARASSED beyond belief AND COMPLETELY TOTALLY
ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!!!!!!!
Im sure they arent.
They are scary!!!!
Here are some photos of my passion, my mothers passion and a store that will never "be" again.
It breaks my heart.
SOOO
sad.
sorry- had to vent.
Beautiful, huh?

Wow. Wow. What can you do?? I would come out there and kick some serious A44!!! Can you report them to someone??? Was there a lot of damage in the area? I know when we had our big storms, our adjuster took over a month to come out, but we had the claim check within one week...
This needs to get resolved. I am so sorry this is happening to your family.
I hate write hate mail if you want me too, cause I got your back.
Oh and vent as much as you want to. HUGS.
xoxox,
Sarah
Dangnabbit- you might need a decoder ring to read my first commnet, and as you can see I tried to fix in with a second comment..which needless to say, had to be deleted.
This is due to the fact that my mind and fingers cannot coordinate at the rate of speed in which I am typing... I got issues.
And no, I have not been drinking tonight. I promise.
My A44 should read A$$...
and the "I hate write hate mail" should read "I can write hate mail.."
Dang.
Will you still be my friend? PUHLEEEAASE?
Crazy. All this insurance stuff and Sarah. ;-)
Honestly, though - that sucks!! Like Sarah said - is there somebody higher up you can talk to? Can you go to an attorney or something?
Oh man, that is such a bummer. what a beautiful shop it was. Did you lose everything? Yikes. Damn bloodsucking insurance company. Bastards. kisses and hugs to you and your family.
My dear concerned friends--
The state insurance commissioner has been involved, but as you can imagine, this also takes time.
The lawyers involved dont want to take it to the next level very badly- because this would suck up alot of money, going to trial, ect.
Thanks you guys, I know sometimes its irritating to listen to people bitch, but MAN oh MAN!!! If you think Im bad, my poor mother is suffering horrible!! THIS IS HER WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!
Lisa, I'm so sorry about this whole nasty situation. This is a huge company with billions of dollars denying you what's rightfully yours. And what's rightfully yours is practically a drop in the bucket to them, I'm sure. I'm glad to hear the state insurance commissioner is involved; it may take some time, but your parents WILL get what they're owed.
This is a highly vent-worthy issue. Vent all you want, girl.
Michelle
I. CANNOT. FREAKING. BELIEVE. THIS.
I mean - you'd think they'd make things right with the insurance commissioner involved, right??
I'm soo sorry for you and your Mom. Your shop was GORGEOUS. Exactly like I'd like my house to look.
xoxox,
mvz
