20 minutes ago, my 12 year old was born...

How can time fly away from me so swiftly?
I am speaking of this little ball of laughter with the beautiful brown eyes. All he did was smile and laugh, then do it some more.
~~~APPLE OF OUR EYE~~~
There was NOTHING we were praying for, more in the whole world.
A baby..Many MANY ups and downs, well mostly downs, including PLENTY of fertility tries produced
NOTHING...and a whole lot of it. Then one day a cat (ICK) came to my parents house and started hanging around. AND AROUND.. My dad said..I'm taking this lil bastard to the emu farm..
I didn't care about cats! I hate cats...I cried, and cried and cried about this little black cat going to the emu farm.. EVERYONE gave me the look. I took the test...AGAIN.
+++++++ wha? WHAT??
The hardest thing I had to do was get this little dumpling to term. I happily HAPPILY and joyfully bed rested myself, took lots and lots of inter muscular injections (my poor husband was the administer of..) Until one day good ol Dr Hartfiel said..Lisa, your baby wants to come out!!
Guess what..no room at the inn..no, no..not the inn. The HOSPITAL!! Many days overdue and I mean OVERDUE..We got admitted to the hospital. Little did I know that was the beginning..I was more than prepared..NOT!
Smooth sailing..right?
Not..But you know what. WE stayed up all night..We pushed and we pushed we huffed and we puffed. We cried and we moaned
WE didn't think we were going to be able to do this. But I did it. Mostly my Husband and I.
Along with the longest most beautiful cone head came the most perfect little body,, with the most perfect little whimper.. ITS A BOY!! BOY?? We thought we were going to have a girl!!Heaven bestowed upon this husband and wife the most magnificent little treasure we could ever imagine.He is the center of the family and the life that makes us a party of 5Last year, this is my little boy. I certainly wasn't prepared for the changes that would come this year. I'm not sure I'm ready for any changes....all I know is time is not waiting for me.
I am the luckiest mommy alive..
These are the luckiest siblings in the world..and they know it.
He will walk them throught the Kelpers kiddy day parade, with nary a pre teen snark..
he will play and play--for hours, and be joyful about it.. The best ever..EVER! Smooth sailing and Happiest of Birthdays to my little boy.
You are 12 today, and 20 minutes ago you weighed 10 pounds.
I love you Ryan.
You have blessed me more than you will ever know.
I'm tearing up, too. (Uh-oh. After reading about your crying pregnancy test and Sarah's comment, I'm a little nervous.) That was beautiful. I love the picture of Ryan in the bow tie and suspenders! He sounds like an amazing kid, no doubt due to amazing parents. Happy 12-year Anniversary of being a Mom!
