A little kitchen porn for your morn..

This home is GORGEOUS!! LOVE the warmness of the whole entire space, the softness of all the furniture, and the colors on the wall are to die for.The windows, dont get me going on the windows.. Its like all enveloping, wouldnt you say?

I crave the wood on the island, people freak out on wood, for its bacteria factor, but I would jump at the chance to have a huge island covered in an awesome hardwood. Chopping block type. If you think about it, you always use a cutting board, right? So why not indulge your inner lumberjack and try a wood island?

The only thing Im not crazy about in this photo is the 2 chandeliers, that arent really on the same wave length. I do like both of them, but I think that they, if this would be my house, would have to have a little more cohesiveness (thats kind of matching, Marty) Believe me, Im not a matchy matchy person, but I would like to see them be at least out of the same materials. If you look closely, ALL of the lighting should be a little more-again not matchy, but COHESIVE..Do you think Im wrong? Im dying to know what you think, dying I tell ya...

When we finish our Beach project, we will finish the "home project" which is kitchen/mudroom/bath(almost complete)redo. Like I said yesterday, Id die and go to heaven for Carerra, I would love and adore to incorporate our island in wood. We have a huge old shuffleboard I would love to use. You know, its all about recycling, and being green!

Hope everyone is well and good. We are going to pick up preschooler and head out the beach way..BV is driving, he took my license away- and my keys. Hes such a daddy.
(kidding, kidding) Love to all!---please dont speed today, its not good for you..

I'm with you on the chandelier. Great photos though!! I also love the title of your post - you really nailed that one.

Have a great day and I promise I won't speed!!

Love your post title! I'm totally with you on more cohesive lighting. At first, I thought the chandelier over the dining table was made out of antlers, and I was a little weirded out. I'm not a matchy-matchy person either, but when you have two chandeliers in one room, they should have some element in common, whether it's material, shape, color, era. . . But those two have nothing in common except that they look weird together.

When Ville and I build our dream home, I will be sure that the double chandaliers are at least the same scale. I need a big ole table like that...and I would not be afraid of the wood island. I really wish I had an island.

I want an island too! Anything but my green avocado kitchen. It's ready for a dumpster!

That speeding isn't good for your wallet either, huh girl?

Love those pics. You just can't beat good porn. I agree about the light fixtures, being in the same room in all they should relate to each other better.

Oh, I loooooove this place! I have actually saved the photo of the fireplace in the great room for inspiration for my great room. We are building a new home and will probably sell it after living in it for a year (if we get a good offer). Is that what you refer to as flipping? Or don't you live in it at all, just sell it immediately? I have just found your blog via 'I don't know how".... just clickin' links! It's great. I could learn so much from you. I am so envious of your beautiful family..fancy having parents who help with your house, who you exercise with!!!!... you are very blessed. Enjoy! Best Wishes A-M from Australia

Hi. I'm new to the blogging world and love your site. I'm going to link your site onto mine. What town are you at on the coast? I live in Ashland, Oregon but have a place in Bandon, Oregon which is what my blogsite is mostly about. Do you have any words of wisdom for a new comer?
