Ship Shape

Hello girlfriends, I trust everyone had a lovely Valentines with the special ones in your lives. We did, here. Love is definately in the air.
Now, This here, this home, definately is LOVE to me. This easy kind of decorating, light coastal colors- tons and tons of natural beautiful light painting everything it touches with warm glow.
This is the upper loft, its directly above the sitting room in the photos below. I would most likely, put a couple of overstuffed upholstered pieces here with the ottoman, instead of those chairs. Just for the comfort level, throw your leg over the chair, relax!

Do you like the look of the exposed beam in a house? To me, that would be the #1 thing I could request, if, and I said if, BV and I ever built, you know- a whole "new" house. #2 would be lots of fantastic doors and windows with tons of light coming in. I got off track for a minute, BV and I always have this conversation about the exposed beam. Insulation? Whats up with that? Where is it? OR...is the exposed beam a "false"exposed beam? We are just not sure...Anyone? Bueler? Bueler?....
HELLLLOOOOOOooo, gorgeous! This kitchen is so simplistic and perfect! Do you not adore how the dishes are stored in what looks like a sideboard, instead of wall hanging cabinets. LOVE IT!
Now, what girl wouldnt think it would be pretty swanky to cook her man a meal to die for on this lovely range, not to mention that scrolly fabulous custom cut front for the stove alcove is both glamorous and whimsical. This is BOSS.(tome)
What do you think of the view from here? This home is really very simplistic and open. Its a 2 bedroom with the bedrooms on either side of the loft. Through the porthole inside the alcove for the stove is the staircase to upstairs, and to the right is the pantry, I love the way they have the fridge in there!
My Dream on the coast. Comment away, I love to hear what you think! Come on, you can do it..

GASP!!! That KITCHEN! LOVE IT!

I love it all, though. All of it. That fluffy white sofa, especially.

gon20I love the exposed beam look too. I want to say it is part of the construction. But I really dont know much 'bout that kind of stuff. Maybe my hubby will know. He is in construction.

I love the open airy feel, and the overstuffed furniture. I'll move in, no problem.

I have no idea what the gon20 is sorry. I do speak English. :) My keyboard is haunted.

I think if you want insulation, it has to be a "false" exposed beam. Gorgeous.

Sarah, I was thisclose to looking up gon20 in Urban Dictionary--I totally thought it was some hip new expression I wasn't up on. If you come up with a good definition, I bet it could be!

Lisa, you might convince BV to see Atonement if you tell him about the scene at Dunkirk, while the British army waits to be evacuated: 5 minutes, 20 seconds, uncut--completely stunning. No need to tell him that I bawled my eyes out, just focus on the WWII aspects. Oh, and it's actually a pretty short movie, if that helps. It's just so good.

Love, love, triple love. You and I have such similar taste. Wanna be roomies? Where in the world are these pictures from? I want to see more. Love exposed beams. They make heart go pitter patter. Love the simple, cozy, warm, clean cottage look. Yummy. Love that kitchen too. I feel the need to go decorate something now.

Yep, I could live there. I am all for the exposed beams, we don't need no stinkin' insulation. Heat rises anyway, right? Does that make any sense? I will have to do a post on how I came up with my blog name. In the meantime, I will be at your house in time for the crabfeed. Ha!
