Lets go for a dig!

We love Fall, when the weather turns crisp and cold and the leaves on the trees change and fall to the ground.
It means using that awesome leaf blower and vintage rake that get the job done so neatly and properly..
BUT...it also means quite a bit more to coastal people around here..

Clam Digging!!!!
The tides are set, this weekend calls for 3 nightly digs Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Our Coastal Nest Cottage is rented (thank you!) but that wont stop this family from trekking out to our favorite beach to get our dig on..

We will be here, on this gorgeous stretch of beach we call our own.

On some days, it looks just like this.. But mostly, in the winter, and especially when they decided to allow clam digging, it looks something like this..

You can see it Here
which is a very bad and totally lowsey representation of how to dig clams, but the ONLY video I have..Plus, its kinda funny to see my sappy self on tape and my drown husband get skunked, (because he is very much a professional clam digger...)
Heaven help us..I will take the old camera this weekend too, and will report back.

wish us luck!

Get your dig on, people~!

I love that they've listed the dates for the entire year! We'll miss this weekend, but you can be sure we'll be there for most of them!

I'm jealous you'll be on a gorgeous beach and I'll be here in the cold, rainy Midwest! Have fun...

Happy clam digging! At least it should be warmer than when you shot your video!

Great photos Lisa, we used to clam dig on Long Island where I grew up, and ate lots of Clams Casino....I so love fall, especially at the beach.

I would love to try it. The beach in the Fall, well, for that matter the beach anytime of the year, but especially in the Fall. I know I would have a great time. And,then to think of going back to one of your beach cabins...sounds like a dream to me.
