Picture this, self, husband, pouring rain, 7am, estate sale..
scoured the home, nothing, go to garage...hmmm on the way I spotted a fantastic very old very HEAVY birdbath...Honey, says I..
so, in the rain and the mud, with the heaviness, and all. The happily married man picks it up, with a little help from another man who is wondering why the hell he is here, too. They continue to load as I scan the garage. By this time wet dirty husband is honking the horn at the girl who is busy scanning. I give the hand wave and the ever glorious " Ill be there in one minute, hon.." look.
Then, I saw her..in the carport..she really was sad, and worn out. As soon as I laid my eyes on her she brightened up and gave me that toothless smile from years of mistreatment in the elements. No one understood her. I walked over to her and roller her around a bit, took out the old rags, paint cans and debris that she was so carefully holding..yep..I said you coming with me.
Insert husband in truck..desperate for more coffee and the Sunday paper. GET IN..Get it, what ever. LETS GO.....
so, I yell, yes, yelled into the garage and asked the estate sale guru how much?? HOW MUCH FOR THIS OLD ICKY JUNK CART?? I winked at the cart, hoping I didnt hurt her feelings too much by all the name calling.(shhh, I said under my breath to her..Ill take you home and give you a bath, Ive got the perfect place for you to live..)
--at this time I was starting to get a bit nervous, had $5 in my wallet and thought that might not be enough.
ehhh, just take it..the guru said..TAKE IT????
Never has there been sweeter words spoken, Take it?? I dont think I did a very good job trying to hold in my joy.
It took us 1.5 seconds to load her up, infact I think she rolled over to the truck all by herself.
Last weekend I took her allllll apart and bathed her with love and spray paint, she was singing a very sweet song as I tended to her rust and loose wheels. Shes so sweet and such a hard worker..she fits perfect in the laundry room and all the boys, especially washer, think shes just adorable...
Say hello to my little friend.

She sure looks like a happy camper. Great deal. Lucky girl.
She's a beauty all right. Must be the happy home she found. I would look for her sister, but our laundry room is too narrow for such a beauty.
Hah Hah....such a cute post! She is a great find though - and FREE!!! Nothin' gets better than that!

I reckon she would have rolled herself out of that garage & chased your car down the road if you hadn't rescued her Lisa. Some days are diamonds.
